A contest is brewing over the election of a new small-firm representative on the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Inc.'s national adjudicatory council.
Alan Davidson, owner of Zeus Securities Inc. of Hauppauge, N.Y., and a longtime gadfly of the regulatory establishment, has gathered enough signatures from other small firms to be placed on the NAC ballot.
He is facing off against Jim Jones, president and chief compliance officer at Crews & Associates Inc. of Little Rock, Ark., a fixed-income boutique. Mr. Jones was selected by a nominating committee of New York- and Washington-based Finra.
