Many North American residents complacently believe that if they avoid living and working in California, they are not "on shaky ground." Risk management and insurance professionals, however, are quite aware of the major earthquake exposures that exist around the world. Several other parts of the world, including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Japan and the Philippines, experience frequent or severe seismic activity. In fact, experts have noted that all 50 states are vulnerable to earthquakes.
