Tucked in the woods of Mississippi State University's Crosby Arboretum in Picayune is an architectural gem. The Pinecote Pavilion, designed by award-winning architect Euine Fay Jones in 1985, is a simple, elegant tribute to nature's own breathtaking designs.
As part of the Crosby Arboretum's 104-acre Native Plant Center, the Pinecote Pavilion overlooks Piney Woods Lake, a showcase for native water plants. Jones designed the pavilion to be built with pine, an indigenous material, and the open, shed-like design of the building allows the visitor to connect visually and physically with the woods and water surrounding it. ...
