THE National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) says a "misunderstanding" stopped Transnet's National Ports Authority from delivering on a funding promise of R100 000.
But the misunderstanding has been cleared up, and the National Ports Authority has promised NSRI chief Ian Wienburg that the money will be made available "shortly", along with another R100 000.
A weekend newspaper reported that the National Ports Authority had promised |R100 000 to the NSRI last year and that another R100 000 was due to be paid in April. But the first instalment was never paid.
