DAVAO CITY, Feb. 19 (PNA) -- General Santos City contributed a significant share in the country's swine industry last year, according to General Santos city veterinarian Dr. Antonio Marin. Marin said during a press forum here, the city is the second largest hog producer in the Philippines, next only to Bulacan. Last year, the province's share in the swine industry nationwide posted P3.3 billion. The city has 37 hog farms, Martin said. The swine industry generates about P100 billion in earnings nationwide, he added.
