THE National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) says a "misunderstanding" stopped Transnet's National Ports Authority from delivering R100 000 in promised funding.
But the misunderstanding has been cleared up, and the National Ports Authority has promised NSRI chief Ian Wienburg that the money will be made available "shortly", along with a further R100 000.
The National Ports Authority promised R100 000 to the NSRI last year and is to pay another R100 000 in April.
But the first amount has not been paid.
Yesterday, Wienburg said he had met a National Ports Authority executive on Friday and she had "guaranteed" ...
