COLUMN: Leicester notebook
Leicester will be accepting applications again this year from seniors interested in performing volunteer service for town departments to work off a portion of their property taxes.
Ten positions in various departments are available, each providing a maximum of 93.75 hours to be credited against the volunteer's property taxes at the rate of $8 per hour, the minimum wage in Massachusetts. The positions will be filled according to departmental needs and the skills of the applicant.
The hours may be served between now and Dec. 15.
