WASHINGTON -- Trade shows in South America are an increasing lure for U.S. textile firms.
As countries there have moved to democratic, market-based economies, trade shows are seen as providing effective exposure for U.S. firms wanting to get into the action.
"If Horace Greeley were around today, he'd say 'Go south, young man -- all the way to Argentina and Brazil,"' said Carmer Robinson, international sales director with Parkdale Mills, Gastonia, N.C. Robinson noted that the consumer markets in these countries are growing vigorously.
