Introduction
In recent years, catalyst-free reactions have attracted increasing interest due to their ease of experimental procedure as well as work-up, low cost, possibility of using acid- or base-sensitive substrates, and their environmentally benign nature.(1-10) This useful technique has been used in several chemical transformations, such as self-assembly of carbon nanotubes, carbon nanowires, and carbon filaments,' synthesis of 2-aminothiazoles,(2) N-benzyloxycarbonylation of amines,(3) synthesis of benzoic esters and benzyl esters,(4) gem-bisallylation of carboxylic acid derivatives,(5) synthesis of polyorganosiloxanes,(6) synthesis of dithiocarbamates,7 ...
