Lots of people would like to believe that Interactive TV is gone for good, and that the long-promised flagship of the information superhighway was the road to nowhere.
But, what's this? A big General Instrument ad two weeks ago trumpeted, "Introducing Interactive TV Right Out of the Box." Sure, it was Easter week, but is GI crazy, resurrecting an idea that everyone loves to hate?
The promotion touted GI's advanced-analog box, focusing on Wink ITV, the interactive engine that has found a place on numerous platforms in the U.S. and Asia. Ironically, Wink Communications itself eschews the term "interactive TV," preferring the more neutral "enhanced ...
