Like many other industries, the printing ink industry has changed entirely over the last twenty or so years.
An industry which was made up of small-and medium-sized companies, largely family owned at the time of the foundation of CEPE in the 1950s, is now dominated by international organisations manufacturing in large bulk, treating ink as a commodity, and under-pinned by a number of small producers, who base their business on rapid regional service.
