The bearish trend in the Nigerian capital market was halted Monday, as the value of listed equities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) appreciated by N18.43 billion.

This was occasioned by a rise in the market indices, the market capitalisation and All-share index. The capitalisation appreciated by 0.36 per cent to close at N5.098 trillion from N5.080 trillion at which it opened, while the index rose by 82.37 basis points to close at 22,794.28 points from 22,711.91 points.
