WORCESTER - The Worcester Animal Rescue League's cruelty investigator has been laid off because of financial reasons, according to a league official.
Joseph L. Cadrin's work during his 12 months in the job saved the lives of six dogs, three horses and a countless number of cats, according to Executive Director Doreen M. LaPorte.
A casualty of the agency's declining revenue from adoptions and donations, Mr. Cadrin conducted 115 investigations. He was let go Feb. 9. His salary was $50,000, Ms. LaPorte said.
