Maize prices remained stable last week
New Delhi, Mar 1 (PTI) Maize remained stable during the past week and averaged at Rs 8,164 per tonne on account of some export enquiries, especially to the South-East Asia region, according to the US Grains Council.
"Prices (of maize) remained stable last week at Rs 8,164 per tonne at the market yard. Against last year, the prices were higher by about 12.4 per cent.
"The average February value was Rs 8,209 per tonne at the market yard, which is 3 per cent higher than the January 2009 average and 14.86 per cent higher than February 2008 average," US Grains Council India Representative Amit Sachdev said.
