According to recent research published in the journal Renal Failure, "Acute renal failure secondary to ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury is associated with significant mortality and morbidity. Aminoguanidine (AG), an inducible nitric oxide synthase inhibitor with antioxidant properties, has been reported beneficial in renal I/R injury."
"The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of AG on renal I/R injury and compare the effectiveness of different AG treatment modalities.
