ONE SENTENCE in the inaugural address of Barack Hussein Obama has become the talk of humanists and freethinkers: "We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus, and non-believers" Commonly referred to as the new president's shout-out to those who don't subscribe to traditional religious doctrines, it has gotten others talking as well. AOL News calls it "the most controversial line in his speech--praised by the New York Times editorial board and cited by some Christians as evidence that he is a heretic."
But the sentiment was nothing new for Obama. He'd said as much in his stump speeches, and in his 2006 book, The ...
