In 1967, Dial Press published Report from Iron Mountain, a document which had supposedly been leaked to the press by one of its authors. According to him, the fifteen members of the "Special Study Group" came from a wide range of academic and non-academic disciplines. That there were no women in the group does not seem significant to him (13). They had been charged by an anonymous government convenor "to consider the problems involved in the contingency of a transition to a general condition of peace and to recommend procedures for dealing with this contingency" ...
