"Where are my favorite Picassos?" Asked this question, the Museum of Modern Art's guards may soon be directing visitors to Atlanta or Ottawa. For a nine-month stretch beginning in November, a large group of the best-known works by the museum's signature artist will be out of town in "Pablo Picasso: Masterworks from the Museum of Modern Art," a show of about 125 objects in all mediums, spanning the artist's entire career. About 20 of these works are normally on view at MOMA, according to its director Glenn Lowry, who approvingly noted that their departure will give the museum a chance "to show a substantially different range of pictures from the permanent collection."
