HAMPTON, Va. - Martin Luther King's former chief of staff, who is visiting Hampton this week for a conference, says he never believed that convicted assassin James Earl Ray killed the civil rights leader.
``I have no doubt whatsoever that James Earl Ray didn't pull the trigger,'' said the Rev. Wyatt Walker, who was at the administrative helm of King's civil rights efforts for four years.
