Metal compression forming offers an alternative to conventional casting.
A metal compression forming process, currently in the final stages before commercialization, may be the next best step in producing netshape or near netshape parts.
For a company that produces millions of auto components a year, that could mean producing a uniform part - time after time - with a metal loss of less than 5%.
