It'll be a heady 1997 for DMG America Inc, Schaumburg, IL, if recent sales inroads with its hallmark Gildemeister and Deckel Maho nameplates in the US precision turning and milling and drilling markets are any indication. Gildemeister has been awarded a contract to supply 200 CNC turning machines over the next five years to Fairchild Fasteners, a major supplier of fasteners to Boeing. Value of the contract is more than $35 million for a mix of machines that includes CNC single spindle turning machines manufactured in Bielefeld, Germany, by Gildemeister Turning Machines GmbH and CNC multispindle turning machines manufactured by Gildemeister Italiana Spa in Bergamo, Italy.
