Search engine users reach 203 mln in China in 2008

Shanghai. March 6. INTERFAX-CHINA - The number of search engine users in China reached 203 million at the end of 2008, up 33.6 percent year-on- year, according to a report released by the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) on March 5.

According to a survey of 1,907 search engine users, most users are mainly young people aged below 30 years old, but with higher monthly incomes than the average for Internet users, CNNIC said. The popularity of search engines is also increasing among highly-educated users over 30 years old.
