In November 1996, U.S. nuclear generating units produced a total of 52 net terawatthours (billion kilowatthours) of electricity, I percent lower than in November 1995. Nuclear units generated at an average capacity factor of 72.2 percent, 1.6 percentage points lower than in November 1995. Nuclear power supplied 21.6 percent of the total electric utility-generated electricity in November 1996, compared with 22.5 percent in November 1995.

No low-power or full-power licenses for nuclear power plants were issued by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission during November 1996.
