Arguably the most high-profile entrant to the cashback market so far has been Microsoft with Live Search Cashback. Launched in the US last May, it was another attempt by the company to usurp Google's dominance of the search market, born from Microsoft's acquisition of loyalty site Jellyfish.com in 2007.
Live Search users searching among and purchasing from a catalogue of more than 13m products can earn cashback of up to 30% of the retail price, with rebates made after 60 days to ensure products bought haven't been returned.
