Kym Buchman (Anne Hathaway) has spent most of her young life stoned or drunk. In that sardonic Hollywood way in which life is lived according to a neatly structured movie script, Kym has managed to drag her family through every sordid episode of her selfish little drama -- and still remains welcome at her sister Rachel's wedding.

Somehow, though, everything remains rosy because the Buchman family seems to be utterly unconcerned with money. They can afford to give Kym as much help as she needs, whether she accepts it or not.
