WORCESTER, Mass., June 17 /PRNewswire/ -- About 10,000 Paul Revere Corp. (NYSE: PRL) insurance brokers sued the company Tuesday alleging it denied them millions of dollars in commissions as part of a plan by its parent company, Textron, Inc. (NYSE: TXT), to bolster Paul Revere's value in anticipation of its sale.

Provident Companies, Inc. (NYSE: PVT) acquired Paul Revere from Textron last year.

The class-action lawsuit, filed in Worcester Superior Court, names Provident and Paul Revere as defendants and seeks treble damages.
