CANBERRA, Australia and OWEGO, N.Y., June 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Lockheed Martin International, a business unit of Lockheed Martin Corporation (NYSE: LMT), has been selected for the "short list" of qualified prime contractors by the Australian Department of Defence for Project Echidna. The procurement is expected to be valued in excess of $400 million AUS with an award in 1999.
Project Echidna is an electronic warfare self protection (EWSP) project for the Royal Australian Air Force. The successful prime contractor will develop and integrate common EWSP systems on five aircraft: C-130J, F/RF-111C, CH-47D, SK-50A, S-70A-9.
