The bread machine turns 10 years old this year and its producers are trying to give the category a new lease on life.
Acknowledging that prices have dropped dramatically, profit margins have been squeezed and consumers may be getting weary of making bread, manufacturers organized themselves into an industry association last year to garner atten- tion, respect and, they hope, support for the breadmaker.
