REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 2, 1997--VeriFone Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard Company, today announced that Network for Electronic Transfers (Singapore) Pte Ltd. (NETS) has chosen VeriFone and HP to establish and support its complete, end-to-end Internet payment pilot in Singapore.

NETS conducted live MasterCard and VISA Internet payment pilot transactions using the Secure Electronic Transaction (SET) protocol. NETS expects to have production launch of this solution later this year.
