Article: Gazprom Ties Latvia Into Longer Deal.

In a bid to secure deliveries to the Baltic states, Gazprom has signed a long-term agreement with Latvian gas utility Latvijas Gaze (LG) on the supply of natural gas through 2030.

The deal extends an existing agreement that ran until 2015, but the Russian state gas giant declined to comment on volumes or prices (NC Nov.26,p7).

LG buys 70% of its gas from Gazprom, which holds a 34% stake in the Latvian state gas utility, and 30% from Itera Latvija, which has a 16% stake. ...
