With loving devotion, the Rev. Donald Meisel cared for his ailing wife, Eleanor, who battled various forms of cancer for a quarter century until she died in 1999.
Those who knew him say he brought that same devotion to his role as shepherd at Westminster Presbyterian Church in downtown Minneapolis, where he served as senior pastor from 1972 to 1992.
Under his leadership, Westminster remained a vibrant congregation at a time when many churches were losing members, and he positioned the church to play a role in leading economic and social transformation in the downtown area. Meisel launched the Town Hall Forum, a ...
