Water skiing is for everybody--even those with physical disabilities. It takes some adaptive equipment but, apart from that, recreation through competitive water skiing is do-able by everybody.
Is your third waterproof?
First things first. In the Courage Center's water ski program the students must demonstrate they are "waterproof." This means that while wearing a PFD (personal flotation device/life jacket), you can right yourself in the water so that your head is up and out of the water. While this waterproofing test is in progress, the instructor can also gauge the comfort level of the student with the water.
