TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 2, 1997--Cineplex Odeon Corp.(TSE, NYSE CPX. ) Cineplex Odeon Corporation announced plans today to significantly increase its presence on Long Island, New York with the major expansion of an existing theatre in Lake Grove and the construction of two new, leading-edge multiplexes in the communities of Riverhead and Huntington. The developments represent combined investments of more than $18 million (U.S.) by Cineplex Odeon and its landlords, and will result in the creation of more than 700 employment opportunities in both construction and permanent positions when the theatres open to the public.
