SHREWSBURY boss Paul Simpson praised referee Graham Horwood for a 'brave decision' that began his side's fightback.
Curtis Weston and Nicky Southall put Gillingham in charge before Horwood awarded Shrewsbury a spot-kick. Grant Holt slotted home his retaken penalty, and then headed home to rescue a point.
Simpson said: 'It was a brave decision because you see those fouls all the time, but there are not many brave enough to give them.'
