Jul. 4--National Computer Systems' proposed processing and warehousing facility in southwest Cedar Rapids follows a pattern of growth in Eastern Iowa by Minneapolis-based businesses.

NCS, which employs as many as 1,200 seasonally in Iowa City, plans to break ground next month on a $15 million, 205,000-square-foot facility at Interstate 380 and Wright Brothers Boulevard. The operation will employ 250 within two years.

In 1994, NCS completed construction of an $11 million, 112,000-square-foot addition to its North Dodge Street facility in Iowa City that added 150 full-time and 125 part-time jobs.
