City officials confirmed Wednesday that they have been asked to expedite the transportation aspect of a proposed downtown economic development project.
Bluefield Mayor Linda Whalen said U.S. Rep. Nick Rahall, D-W.Va., has asked city officials to immediately put together a proposal for the transportation component of the proposed Princeton Avenue project.
Whalen said the city is working closely with Rahall s office to develop the unidentified downtown economic development project.
