Offshore funds are increasing in popularity thanks to new open-architecture platforms, changes in legislation - and demand for a broader range of options
With more than 2,000 UK-domiciled funds, many advisers have seen little need to seek out Luxembourg or Dublin-domiciled funds to supplement client portfolios.
Fund platforms have reflected that lack of interest and most - until recently - have included just a handful of offshore funds. But a number of factors have brought offshore funds on to the radar of advisers, including legislative momentum and turbulent markets.
