The debut of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) was a hit with fans as thousands poured into arenas across the country to cheer on their favorite teams.
The players were just as excited as the fans about inaugural weekend of the league. Many them were realizing their dream of playing professional basketball in the United States.
"To play in a league like this has always been my dream, but I didn't know if it would ever happen," Lynette Woodard, of the WNBA's Cleveland Rockers, told USA Today.
