U.K. Prime Minister Gordon Brown will step up pressure on Iran to halt its nuclear program in return for supplies of enriched uranium to generate electricity.
Iran is a test case for this new philosophy of the right to civil nuclear power with sanctions for rule breakers, Brown will say in a speech in London today, according to extracts released in advance by his office. I hope that Iran will make the right choice and take advantage of the international community s willingness to negotiate. Brown is due to speak at 10 a.m.
