EVER SINCE the presidential primaries ended, a storm has been gathering in the business community. Then-candidate Barack Obama's talk of the "card check" bill (misleadingly titled the Employee Free Choice Act) energized labor unions and terrified businesses .
This proposed legislation would completely revolutionize labor law. It would seriously damage a firm's ability to maintain control over its work force and satisfy the ever-changing needs of customers in a global economy. The legislation was re-introduced in the House and Senate last week .
