Turtle Mountain, a local maker of soy-based frozen desserts, is trying to crack open the market for coconut milk products.
"Our goal is to be the premier coconut milk-based food company here in the United States," marketing director John Tucker said.
Last year, the Eugene-based company introduced coconut milk frozen desserts and the world's first coconut milk yogurt, he said. By April, Turtle Mountain plans to introduce the country to its So Delicious brand of coconut milk beverage that pours, looks and feels similar to 2 percent or whole milk, Tucker said.
