LEOMINSTER - For the first time, two area agencies are targeting Latinos to find the root causes of the disproportionately high rate of teen pregnancy in that population in Fitchburg and Leominster.
The high rate is a concern, said Neddy Latimer, executive director of the Spanish American Center in Leominster.
The center received a $50,000 grant to develop a program for teen pregnancy prevention tailored to the Latino population, she said.
The project is a collaborative effort with the Montachusett Opportunity Council.
