PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 18, 1997--Starwood Lodging Trust (the Trust), a real estate investment trust, whose shares are paired and trade together as a unit (NYSE:HOT) with Starwood Lodging Corp. (the Corporation, and together with the Trust, the company or Starwood Lodging), a hotel management and operating company, announced the acquisition of the 385-room Radisson Plaza Hotel at Town Center in Southfield, Mich., from Prudential Insurance Co. for a purchase price of approximately $40 million, or $103,900 per room.

Upon closing, the Corporation has taken over management of the hotel.
