Buzz is building around Homewood distributor's bug-repellent wristband
A Homewood entrepreneur is taking a swat at the multimillion-dollar insect repellent business with a bracelet called Bug-Ban.
Dino Miliotis hopes Bug-Ban will be more than an annoyance in a market dominated by such brands as Off!, Skintastic and Cutter. The 31-year-old holds global distribution rights for Bug-Ban from Lake George, N.Y.based Eco Tech, the bracelet's maker.
The white plastic wristband - infused with non-toxic oils that give off odors that insects avoid - is sold in convenience stores and such major chains as Venture and Kmart discount stores and Kroger and Winn-Dixie ...
