Article: Alfred Poor's computer cures. (Question and Answer)(Column)

Operating System Shuffle

Dear Alfred:

I want to upgrade my operating system to Windows NT, but retain the ability to run Windows 3.1, which is currently installed on my hard drive (drive C). I also have a CD-ROM drive (drive D) and would like to add a new hard drive (drive E) for NT and its applications. I'd like to be able to boot from either drive C or drive E. How do I do this?

Dear Stephen:

There are a number of good ways to skin this cat, but they all take a slightly different approach. Almost all of them will require some additional hardware or software.
