For Blacks, slavery is probably the bleakest period in history. For more than 200 years Blacks were the victims of forced servitude. And now, a White Congressman from Ohio has proposed a bill that calls for an apology to Blacks for the wrongs inflicted on them through slavery.
This symbolic gesture has set off a national dialogue and has the country debating the question: Should the government apologize for slavery?
