PARENTS who obsessively wash and bathe their children could be partly to blame for a huge increase in eczema cases, an expert has warned.
The number of sufferers has risen by more than 40 per cent over four years and nearly six million people now suffer from the complaint, with numbers expected to rise still further.
The theory that over-zealous hygiene may be partly to blame was raised by Edinburgh University professor Aziz Sheikh, who carried out a study into potential causes.
