I HAVE NEVER PAID MUCH ATTENTION to the Ulster Literary Theatre and began reading this book-length study of it with muted enthusiasm. But I'm a fan of both Ulster and theatre, so it seemed worth a try. McNulty's study is, in fact, worth considerably more than a try and provides a helpful, accessible addition to Irish theatre studies.
