USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) is America's oldest warship and the only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier. The ship operates from Yokosuka, Japan, and provides power projection for the United States throughout the Western Pacific and Indian Oceans, from Hawaii to the Arabian Gulf. She is a floating city where 5,300 people live and work to accomplish the primary mission of launching and recovering aircraft.
