CDR Wesley A. Griffin was awarded First Place in the annual Hirsch Research Paper Competition sponsored by the DAU Alumni Association (DAUAA), along with the DAU Research Department. The annual competition is open to all DoD acquisition community professionals, to include the entire commercial defense industry.

The theme for the 2008 competition is "Defense Life-Cycle Management--Sustaining DoD Weapons Systems." The theme supported the annual DAUAA Acquisition Community Symposium, held in April on the DAU Capital Campus, Fort Belvoir, Va.
